Charlotte's 21st Cake Card!

Managed to get a quick card done today...............amongst the shopping and housework ;)

Did go to The Range this morning and picked up some bargains - all of the years I've been going and never realised they have a 'Clearance Corner' - OMG the craft stuff there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got DCWV Nanna's Nursery Girl 8x8 for £8, loads of Doodlebug Mini Alphabet rub ons for 50p each and a few other 'bits'

Anyway - onto the card - I've made this card for my niece's birthday and got my inspiration from the cake from Alice in Wonderland. I made the 'cake toppers' out of peel offs, mirri board, wire beads and pins.

The papers used for the cake are called 'Cupcakes' and from Crafts House. I've Cuttlebugged a piece of Gemstones with the 'Happy Birthday' embossing folder as a backing.

I've taken a close-up of the bottom tier of the cake from above - as the silver mirri board letters weren't showing too well on the full size pic!

I'm entering this card into this week's Simon Says 'Let's go to the Movies' challenge

and

As this is a Movie inspired card I thought I'd like to link it over at Raise The Bar too. I was lucky enough to be picked as a Guest Bar Tender for this week's challenge, so I would imagine that means that really I shouldn't - but would still like to share another Movie card with them :)

Edited...
I've just realised I hadn't linked this card to the other challenge I'd crossed off - The Cuttlebug Spot - I knew I'd added the embossing for a specific reason!

Raise the Bar - Guest DT :)

Here's the card I did for this week's Raise the Bar Challenge. I was lucky enough to be asked to do a Guest DT week after my CupCake card (a few posts below) was picked as one of the top 3 :)

I was over the moon when I was asked and couldn't wait to get my card done - it's been hard not to upload it till today too!

This weeks challenge is Favorite Movies..........can you guess what mine is?

Petals & Pearls with Magnolia!

Another 'pre-work' upload today!

Had to wait for the Liquid Pearls to dry before I could snap this this morning.

I bought a huge roll of sticky-back cork a couple of days ago for £2.99 from The Works and of course had to use it straight away!!!

Challenges I'm entering this card for are...

Just Magnolia - Punch it Out

and

Allsorts - Petals & Pearls

Flowers for The Sugar Bowl!

Hi to you all :)

Thought I'd try and do my upload before going to bed - rather than when I get out of it!!!

I've made a card tonight for The Sugar Bowl Challenge and really enjoyed doing it too.  The sketch is fab - I have turned it though as I fancied using this image for the first time!!!
I've coloured my Magna with Promarkers, the paper's are from 'Butterflies & Blossoms' by DCWV, some peel off flower heads and ribbon & brads.

The 'extra' this week in the challenge was to use flowers - and I think I've managed to include a few - what with the paper and the peel offs!

Well thanks again for stopping by - I'm planning on a very crafty week next week - I'm off work and my Mum is coming to stay :)
I've told her she has to bring the beads and jewellery making kit I bought her for Christmas - I may diverse!

Mono Cute Card!

Morning all - another 'quick' (spelt right this time!) post before shooting off to work - why does the 'W' word give me the same fuzzy-feeling as the 'H' word .............. HOUSE & WORK - Arrhhhh! How I wish I could stay at home all day being creative (well trying to be!)

My card this morning is for Cute Card Thursday - I was a little unsure as to whether it would be ok but I double checked the blog and it doesn't stipulate that you have to use a stamped image - so here goes....

The challenge this week is 'Mono Mania' and I've used some great papers from DCWV - 'All Dressed Up' to create my mono pink theme.

Thanks everyone for popping over and see you soon :)

After work...
Edited to spell 'shooting' right!!!!!!!!!!

Penny Black & Buttons!

A really quich post this morning so I can get my Penny Black Saturday Challenge up before I go to work :(
This is a large 21cm sq card - I'm loving making these oversized cards at the moment.

I coloured my PB 'Uplifting Occasion' with water colour pencils and highlighted it with Anita's 3d Gloss.

The paper is from PM Retro Flower - and as you can see I have a bit of a 3d effect going on with the flowery paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by, see you soon :)

How Sweet.....................

.........................are these two little darlings???

The image is one of Mo's and can be found here.

I've used my water colour pencils to colour them and then cut out the image (Mo's copyright info I've added to the back of the card).

Papers used are: Gemstones (not like me!), PM Vellum and DCWV 'Old World Mat Stack'.

Other bits: PM Pearl Brads, October Afternoon Rub-On sentiment and Flower Flourish, KanBan self-ad Pearls, Ribbon and lace from stash.

I'm going to enter this into a few challenges...

Mo's Digital Pencil - Pastel colours

Cute Card Thursday - Egg-citing! (not an Easter card but you could alternativley use an egg or oval shape somewhere on the card!)

Dutch Dare Card Challenges - Fabric...I hope the lace counts as fabric???

Thanks for visiting and hope the last few hours of your Easter weekend are as relaxing as I plan mine to be ;

A Few Challenges For Zoe's Birthday

It's my daughter's 22nd Birthday on Tuesday so I thought I'd try and incorporate a few challenges into her card.

The image is from Kimmie Stamps and called Dance Recital - aren't they cute! I've coloured them with Promarkers and chalked the edges.

The patterned papers I'm afraid I have no idea what they are as they were sent as a RAK some time ago! The plain paper is GemStones - my good old trusted favorite!

I've used a candle border punch I won in some candy and it has no name on it, so I've no idea about that either..................................this isn't very helpful is it?

The flowers I've punched (Woodware!) and the letters are Doodlebug's 'All Messed Up'.

The challenges I'm entering this for are....

Sketch & Stash - Sketch and my new, never used before stamp :)

Krafting Kimmie - Punched candle border and punched flowers :)

Stampin' for the Weekend - Ribbons & Bows and optional 3 papers, 3 embellishments and a charm :)

Thanks for calling round - see you soon :)

(don't eat too much choccy tomorrow!)

Thinking of...Daffs

...my favorite flowers :)

This card uses 3 stamps from Elusive Designs - the 3 stamps make up the kit - great value, find them here (this link will allow you to look for a local supplier).

I've coloured the daffs with WaterColour Pencils and 3D Glossed them.

I'm entering this for.....

Allsorts - No Designer Papers

Thanks for visiting me and I hope your Easter weekend is a good one :)

Edited to Add...

Debs picked this card as one of her Top 5 over at Allsorts - Thanks Debs :)

Altered Match Box

After my Mum saw the first Match Box I altered she asked if I'd do a few for her to give to her sisters for Christmas - nothing like planning ahead!

The match boxes are from the supermarket - they're the long matches for open fires.

I've tried to distress the paper that I covered it with - I think I've done ok this time round - it doesn't look like my usual 'traumatised'!!!

This is going in for the Allsorts challenge which is hosted by the fab Helene this week - I almost missed out too - only an hour left to enter this week!

I'm also going to enter it for the Simon Says... Challenge which is 'distressing' this week (the theme that is - not the challenge!)
