Top Tip Tuesday #19

Good Top Tip Tuesday morning to you all :)

What a busy week I had looking at all of your gorgeous entries for last week's 'All Sentimental' challenge - they were all fantastic and can I say how hard it was for us all at TTT to pick our first ever Top 3!

But a Top 3 was decided, along with the prize winners, so pop over now to see if your name is up in lights!

I offered a 'Mystry Prize' too, to be drawn from all who followed my WordArt Book tutorial.
And that lucky winner is.........

Congrats Sally - I love your 'Love' WordArt Book

As Sally entered the only WordArt Book into the challenge I think she deserves an extra special prize - so I'll see what other extras I can find to add to the promised extras!
E-mail me Sally (link on sidebar) and I'll get your goodies in the post to you :)

On to this weeks Challenge...

Leanne has prepared a wonderful tutorial on making flowers from punched hearts, so this weeks theme is..

'Fabulous Flowers'

So we want to see some flowers on your project!

We are lucky to have another 2 fantastic sponsors again this week...

and

You can enter by either...

Making and uploading a 'Fabulous Flowers' project

or

Leave a tip in the comments section

or

do Both!

Please remember a few simple rules when entering our challenge
- Max 3 entries each (extra entries will be deleted) -
- Link your post and not your blog to Mr Linky -
-Link back to TTT in your post -

Here's a card I made using some 'Peel Off' flowers!
They are transparent holographic and I stuck them onto matching papers, some were raised of the card with foam pads.

My cat doesn't look green in real life - onest!

So get those Fabulous Flowers out and add them to your project - add your project to our challenge at Top Tip Tuesday and you could win one of our prizes!

Have a 'Fabulously Flowery' week

Really Simple Monochrome!

I love black & white on cards and when I read this fantastic tip left on Top Tip Tuesday last week I just knew I had to have a go!

Although Monochrome doesn't mean 'black & white' I thought it best for this technique. I picked this tip up from Princess Kitten and it can be used with any Digi image and is very effective - and so simple! Thanks so much Kitten, I said I'd give it a go!

I used the fab image called  Ronnie Relaxing from PollyCraft - isn't he sweet?

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges.....

Cute Card Thursday - Monochrome

CES Challenges - No DP!

Top Tip Tuesday #18

Good Top Tip Tuesday Morning to you all :)

What do you think of our new badge?
Leanne's not just a great crafter - she creates great blog badges too!
.....    and I'm sure I heard a whisper of a Top 3 badge too ;)    .....

We had an amazing 427 entries for our last ever 'Anything Goes' challenge last week - wow! Thank you to each one of you that entered, we had some absolutely amazing creations.
Pop over now to see if you are one of our lucky winners :)

This week it's my turn to share a tutorial with you and I have decided to share my favorite...

WordArt Book

To find out how to make your own template in Word, pop over to Top Tip Tuesday!

We have 2 fab sponsors again this week...

and

To be in the running for one of our prizes this week you have to include some 'words' on your card - yep...a sentiment! How fab is that - I know I don't make many cards without sentiments!
or
you can leave us a tip in the comments section
or
you can do both!

To qualify for a prize you MUST follow a few simple rules
- No backlinking, your card post must be from todays date on.
- You MUST add a link back to Top Tip Tuesday in your post.
- Please link your specific post and not just your blog.

Unfortunately there are still a few not following these rules and therefore they don't go into the draw :(
...although if we notice you've missed the link we will leave you a little reminder so you don't miss out :)

One last detail for this week.......

I will also be offering a prize to one person who makes a WordArt Book following my tutorial!!!

It won't be a fantastically expensive prize - I'm just a humble crafter too ;)
I just want to show my appreciation to those of you who take the time to follow my tutorial.....and if I'm honest, it took me so long to write I want to 'encourage' as many people as possible to use it!!!!!

Upload your WordArt Book to Mr Linky over at TTT as usual, leave a comment for me in the comment section and leave any feedback (pos/neg) about my tutorial that I can bear in mind for the next one I write.
I will choose a winner next Tuesday evening and announce it on this blog, they will get to choose one of my many new & unused stamps....and I'm sure a few more goodies will find their way to the winner too!

So get those sentiments out or fire up Word and get entering!

Have Fun!

Top Tip Tuesday #17

Good Top Tip Tuesday Morning To You All :)

What a gorgeous lot of 'Metal Mickey' projects we had last week - some adorable cards with an aray of metal embellishments and some amazing altered pieces too - fantastic - I thoroughly enjoyed looking through them all - thank you to everyone who joined in and pop over to TTT to see if you are one of our lucky winners :)

On to this week...

To mark the first week with our wonderful new Teamies we are holding an 'Open Challenge' - how cool is that - you can upload any project, using any technique!
Please make sure you link only new uploads, please link to the post and not just to your blog (the DT may not have time to comment if they have to look through your blog for the project...plus we'd get so engrossed in all of your amazing projects we wouldn't get around you all ;) and please make sure you leave a link back to Top Tip Tuesday in your post.

This week we have 2 amazing sponsors..

and

As it's an Open Challenge I decided not to make a card this week, instead I decorated another jumbo match box!

This was so simple with Gemstones cardstock, flowers, ribbon, metal corner piece and a few decorative sewing pins!!!

Make sure you pop over to Top Tip Tuesday to check out the rest of the DT's Open Challenge projects - I can guarantee you wont be disappointed :)

We hope you have time to join in with us this week and look forward to seeing your wonderful creations :)

Sunday, 9 January 2011

And another one......

.......no stopping me this afternoon!

Here's another card I managed to get done this week - it's for the same person as the card in the previous post!

I've used a gorgeous LOTV Die Cut - I sooooo love these, perfect image EVERY time ;)

MS Butterfly border punch, Gemstones card stock, Lace from WOC and more of the 'fill your own' box from The Papermill Shop!

Sentiment computer generated.

A few Challenges......

Lili of the Valley - Sketch

Sentimental Sundays - Anything with Wings

How Long Has It Been????????????????

How bad am I? I can't remember the last time I got to do a card for a challenge!

Before I go onto my card tho I want to apologise for any mistakes you see in this post - my keyboard has decided to test my typing skills by turning a few keys blank! I'm no touch typist and now my N & M have decided to 'rub' clear I very often get them muddled! Thankfully spellcheck should pick most of them up! I'm so tempted to re-write them on with Tipex!

Onto my card.........

This is a card using a few techniques that I've been wanting to re-visit for a while - using a quote rather than an image, doilies (which I have loads of now but have not yet used!), the crumpling up the card bit to be honest that was one of those 'mistakes'... I'd creased the card putting it through the Cuttlebug so had to do something to hide it! I covered the whole quote and sentiment in clear embossing powder.  The leaves are both MS punches - Christmas pressies I bought myself ;) The larger ones are a deep border punch that I then trimmed to length.

The main backing piece is a piece of one of the 'fill your own' boxes from The Papermill. I have loads of them here and now the shops are all closing down I wont be taking them back to refill :(

A couple of challenges I'd like to enter this card into....

Sketch & Stash - Sketch & Doilies

Charisma Cards - Birthday

Cute Card Thursday - 'Out with the old' (old Papermill box!)

Secret Crafter Saturday - Tons of Texture (lace, embossing, doily, ribbon)

Good Top Tip Tuesday morning to you all!

What fantastic 'Layer on Layer' creations we had last week - and wasn't Anne's Paper Piecing tutorial fab!

This week we are sponsored by the fab Crafty Pad Stamp Designs .....

Today to close the 4 week run of Team 1 tutorials we are holding an 'Open Challenge'

Please create something either using one of the previous 4 week's tutorials - My Candle Design, Dawn's Image Colouring, Leigh's Buttons or Anne's Paper Piecing (those 4 cover about any design of card you fancy doing ;) OR you could leave us a tip in the comments section on the TTT blog OR you could do both!
Each one you do will give you 1 entry into the prize draw.
Thanks to each Team 1 member for their wonderful tutorials :)

PLEASE, PLEASE remember to leave a link back to the TTT blog in your post.

I'd planned on using an image from our fab sponsors this week - but left it a bit late to buy it, so I'll have to try and find some time in the week to colour up my gorgeous little mouse and christmas ball ;)

Here's a card I made with an image I'd coloured previously!

A gorgeous Penny Black image - watercoloured, Cuttlebug embossed Black Magic card - sanded.

Top Tip Tuesday - Paper Piecing

Good Top Tip Tuesday Morning to you all!

Huge thanks again this week to all who participated in Leigh's fantastic 'Button Bonanza' - there really were some stunning creations linked this week and some fab tips too!
Pop over to TTT to see if you are one of the lucky winners :)

This week it's the turn of Anne.
Paper Piecing is the skill she's sharing with us today so if you've never tried pop over to see what stunning results you can achieve and the Top Tip Tuesday Team 1 girlies have done some awesome examples too.
Here is the design Anne is sharing with us....

Even if you have tried Paper Piecing before or you're already a master of the skill you could still be in the running for a prize by either sharing a 'Paper Piecing' creation with us or by leaving a tip in the comments section.

This week we have 3 fab prizes again from some of our wonderful sponsors....

This is the card I made as my Paper Piecing example - now I must admit this is a technique I have only ever done once before - but Anne has reminded me how effective it is - so I think I'll be doing it a little more often than once every other year now!

I used one of my favorite stamps which is by Elusive Images and stamped it onto the backing paper, the green (cut out the leaves) and the grain yellow (cut out the flower)

A couple of challenges I'd like to enter this card for...

Back with these very soon!
