Penny Black Saturday Challenge

This is the first time I've entered the PBSC, but thought seeing as 60% of my stamps are Penny Blacks!!!!!

For Week 42 the theme is to 'think Spring'

Image was coloured with Watercolour pencils (waiting to 'upgrade' my colouring medium!) Then highlighted with Anita's 3d Gloss.
Backing paper was from my stash - random pack picked up from The Papermill shop AGES ago! Torn in half and layered onto mirri board. Gold sparkly, stary ribbon placed in centre.

Thanks for looking and use the link to pop over to the PBSC blog to see some fantastic PB work :)

Back To Basics!

Sue @ Playing With Paper has a challenge running on her blog. It's just as the title says! No 'new-fangled' craft bits or equipment allowed!

Here's my effort...

I used wrapping paper and stationery split-pins! They look just like large brads but have pins about an inch long!!!
I decoupaged the pints of beer after strengthening them on card.

I really enjoyed doing this card - thanks for getting my grey matter working again Sue :)

I've Done Another One!!!

Firstly, I hope all the mums reading this have had a good Mother's day :) Been spoilt rotten and allowed to craft ALL day!!! I'm just about to sit at my desk to do a bit now, but thought I'd show you something I did last week -

I love doing these Arty Farty Cribs :) They are so different each time I do them!

This one was fun to do too - I decided to add a 'Bead Bar' as I had on the very first one I made almost 2 years ago. My daughter (who's 21 in 2 weeks!!!) had a cot with this type of bead bar, which is where I got the original idea from.
This bar took a little working out! I started off with wire - but it wasn't srong enough to stay straight with the beads! After some playing around I came up with - a BBQ skewer inside an art straw! The pins from the brads you can see on the outside of the cot, are glued into the ends of the straws!
I love to use lace and ribbon to decorate the cots too. Oh, and I have NEVER used A3 card to make the box - I use the template but make 5 seperate pieces using A4.

Thanks for looking :)

Happy Crafting :)

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #3

As I left it so late to do my challenge 2 card I thought I'd get number 3 Truly Scrumptious done in record time!!!

As well as the sketch to work from for this one has to have something 'sparkly'.

My 'sparkle' comes from glitter embossed vellum (not a clue what it is as I've had it for AGES! Bought a few single sheets from The Papermill), silver ribbon, mirri card, 3d gloss and some fab holographic threaded lace!

The image I've used is one of Janets from Pink Gem Designs, she is sponsoring this challenge and the prize is one of her FAB stamps - I LOVE THEM!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #2

Wow..................Only just made it!!!

Challenge 2 from Truly Scrumptious again was a sketch with the little 'extra' of adding 'home-made' buttons!

My buttons are cut with Nesties from Funky Foam - I'm quite pleased with them too ;)

The image is Penny Black and is coloured with watercolour pencils. I Highlighted the flower of the Water Lilly with Anita's 3d Gloss. Backing paper is from the Pocket Full Of Posies stack by DCWV.

Hope you like it & thanks for looking :)

Dottie's Back(side!)

Loved these Back2Front Dotties from Charmed Cards and Crafts when I saw them a few weeks ago - then when I found Karen's fantastic Copic candy I had the perfect reason to get them!

I've used Watercolour pencils to colour my Dottie - although I'm sure she'd look much better with 'Clothes & Hair By Copics'!!! ;)
Highlighted her and the windows with 3d Gloss (wasn't untill after I'd put it all together I realised you couldn't see the bricks through the glass - Oh well, I'll know for next time!!!)
Used green flourishes and some Flowersoft for the climbing plants, and added some Penny Black Stickeroo wildlife!

Thanks for looking :)

I Want To Pass My 'GAG' On To......

(.....as in Great Attitude and/or Gratitude)

I would like to show MY Gratitude to:

Sue and Gill

I realise I'm not doing this as I should, cos I'm s'posed to nominate 5 people, but I wanted to recognise the 2 people that have helped me from day 1 in my card-making life.

For the Great Attitude you have shown in the last 2 years with your inspiration and motivation. For the support you have offered and the confidence you nurtured inside me (I should write speech's!).

Thank You :)

Arty Farty Cherub

I LOVE doing these :)

A friend in work wanted a really girly one to give to her friend.
'The more frills the better' was the spec!
That was it - I was in my element doing this, and I'm really pleased with the final result.

Waiting to get all of the birth details now and will then attach a 'plaque' to the foot of the cot.
I have adapted the AF pattern a little to account for the cover at the top of the straws and to make the carry box using A4 card (5 seperate pieces - Front, Back, Bottom and 2x Sides)

Recipe:
Arty Farty Cherub Pattern
Pink Pearlised Card
Art Straws - side bars
Lace from local haberdasheries
Acetate
Glittered Embossed Vellum from stash
Doll on a spring - taken from the top of a pencil!!!

Thanks for looking :)
