Some Weekend Playing!

Hi to all of my fab blogger buddies - hope you are having a great weekend wherever and whatever you are doing :)

I've just finished a card that I wanted to get into a couple of challenges for this weekend - cutting it short again!

I've used the gorgeous image 'Delores D'ammage' from Kenny K and coloured her with Promarkers. I used my scoreboard to emboss some Gem Stones card for the backing piece and punched out some flowers for the base panel.

Challenges I'd like to enter this card into.....

Stamptacular Sunday - Grid (the embossing - to match her fishnets!)

KennyK'sKraftyGirlz - Stitching - faux stitching added around the edges of all pieces. I'm too late :(

Passion for Promarkers - Make your own flowers

Charisma Cardz - Anything Goes!

Platinum Wedding Anniversary!!!

Hi All :)

A couple of days ago I had a text from a friend asking me to make a card for a 70th Wedding Anniversary! ....I know - I had to text her back to make sure she hadn't made a typo!

How fantastic is that.....70 years of marriage - Wow!!!

Straight away I new what image I was going to use - I've wanted an excuse to buy it for ages - and this was the perfect one!

Jack & Ginger by Mo Manning. I fell in love with this sweet couple when I first saw them and was straight over to Mo's fantastic shop to buy them - $5 very well spent too :)

I also followed the challenge on Mo's Challenge Blog - 'White on White' ...although by time I'd finished with my antique linen distressing ink there's not a huge amount of white left! I do hope the fact I started with white counts!!!

I just love colouring Mo's images and love to print them quite large - this card is 21cm x 21cm, I thought such a huge occasion needed a larger than normal card too!

I embossed 3 panels with my Cuttlebug and added some wide organza ribbon, WOC flowers, pins and pearls. The hearts are using a MS punch.  I layered all of the pieces onto silver mirri board - I've not yet seen a Platinum one! The sentiments mention their names, Platinum & 70 years - I wanted to get them all on!

Although my colouring skills aren't as great as some of you out there, I can't not show you a close up of the happy couple.....

and here's a close up of the flower detail.....

There are a couple of challenges I'd like to enter this card into...

Mo's Digital Pencil - White on White

ABC  - D for Distressing

Secret Crafter - Anything Goes!

Pile it On - Layers

Top Tip Tuesday - Week 2

Good Top Tip Tuesday everyone!

I hope you all grabbed loads of top tips from our first Top Tip Tuesday
- I know I did!

This week it's the wonderful Moriah's turn to pass on her Top Tip
- a fantastic 'Altered Clipboard'.

This tip has given me so much inspiration - I want to make a wipe-clean 'To Do List' board, a recipe holder board for my mum, a 'Clean My Room List' board for the kids (Hah .......as if!!!!!!),
I just need to go out and buy more clipboards!

This week we have another 2 amazing sponsors...

&

If you're not familiar with their images pop over for a look.

Pop over to TTT and find out how Moriah has altered her clipboard and to see the wonderful Softpencil image that she has used too.

Lianne will also be announcing the winners of last weeks prizes -
did you link one of your tips?
If so you may have won!!!

Thanks for joining in with our new blog, leave us a link to your tip post and you could be in the running for one of the prizes - and give us a shout if you make anything with our featured tips, we'd love to have a look.

Don't forget your pen and paper to jot down those tips - you could even make a Top Tip Tuesday altered clipboard to store them all on!

The Last 2....

.....cards for this weekend!

A really quick post too as I have to get to bed or I won't be up for work in the morning!

The first card is made using a Penny Black image, watercoloured with my pencils, a little ribbon and a knot and finished with a few gems.

The challenges I'd like to enter this card for are...

Penny Black Saturday - Mens/Boys Card

Allsorts - Colours of Autumn (brown & green, the orange leaves have blown away!)

{Cupcake Inspirations} - Photo

My second card is using one of the fantastic Manga stamped images - I've not used these stamps for sooo long - it should be illegal! I've coloured her with my Promarkers and used Dovecraft 'Piece of Cake' papers. I cut her out with a Nestie - making sure I left her feet dangling over the edge so she sits nicely in the circle. I've added a peeloff cupcake, flower buttons and CB corners to finish.

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges.....

The Sugar Bowl - Sketch & Buttons

Passion for Promarkers - Sweet Treats

Thanks all - hope you had a weekend as crafty as mine!

Troublemaker!

I'm on a bit of a roll this weekend - I've even managed to add inserts and pack up a few cards to take into work tomorrow - everyone keeps coming in my office for cards but my box is empty!!!

This card is made using one of Kenny K's amazing digi images - this little sweetie is called - Troublemaker! I've watercoloured her...................I can never work out if her hair on the left side is her hair or the side of her hoodie!!!!

I'd like to enter this card into this week's KennyK's Krafty Challenges where the spec is to do some embossing - I've embossed a circle of mirri board in the Cuttlebug for Troublemaker's background.

Off to see what else I can get done today!

Swirls & Pearls

Well I've managed to do another card today - albeit a quick one! I took delivery of some essential craft goodies this morning and one item that really excited me was the piece of card the lovely lady that packed my goodies had popped in the package to stop it squashing! The fact that I can get excited over something, that a little while ago I'd have called rubbish, I blame on you lot - my fellow crafters ;)

I've used a KennyK image that I'd Water Coloured ages ago - whilst in Penrith Crafts back in July actually with Helen & Uma, the day after Samantha's Wedding!

What do think of my FREE card blank then!

As I'd printed the image so big (the bigger the better as far as I'm concerned with KennyK's fantastic digi images!) the card didn't have much room for anything else.

I punched a scalloped edge and used the waste for the opposite side and also the tiny pieces to highlight the scallops.

I then found some ribbon to pick out the colour I'd used for her eyes.

I'd like to enter this card for...

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz - Swirls & Pearls

Thanks so much for visiting and enjoy the rest of your weekend

A Challenge Card At Last!!!

Hi All,

At last I've managed to do a challenge card - not the 2 or 3 I was planning - but there's always this weekend!

It was my Gran's birthday today (well yesterday, as it's now 'stupid o'clock'!) and the sketch over at Lili Of The Valley was just perfect - as was the LOTV die-cut I used. I just love their selection of die-cut images, they are beautiful!

I've used some gorgeous flowers and lace from WOC who are sponsoring the LOTV challenge this week - isn't that lace fab!

I cut the image and matt with my Nesties and have used some Gemstones card.

Thanks for popping over and don't forget to visit the new Challenge Blog that I'm lucky enough to be part of Top Tip Tuesday where you can win prizes for sharing your tips!

I Need To Practise!!!

Something very exciting is happening soon........................and I need to make sure I know how to get Mr Blogger to post for me! Therefore I am practising the practice of schedule posting (can't you tell I had to look up in the dictionary to see if I was practising or practicing!!!)

Visit very soon to see what I'm waffling on about!

Edited to correct my spelling! Note to self - make sure I use spellcheck before scheduling!

Here's the Nappy Cake I made earlier and delivered to a very happy lady :)

Socks rolled into candles and placed into booties.....

It's the Weekend!!!!!!!!!!!

....and I'm so glad I've got a day when I don't have deadlines to meet (well I do but it's only a little one!), or anywhere I NEED to be (again I do, but it's only a delivery!) What am I like!
It's just it feels like months since I had a weekend when I wasn't somewhere else, or having to bury myself in Wedding Stationery ALL day!!! That's probably why I feel so relaxed today...I know I'm not going to be up till 4 in the morning getting to the next stage for the following day!
We have a Christening to go to tomorrow, with a bit of luck I'll get the card done but I think he'll have to wait for his crib!

I have another Nappy Cake to make today and deliver this evening - so will post a picture of it tomorrow, but here's the one I did last weekend for my sister......

and here's my new niece Amy.....

The Nappy Cake I made for Amy was a very 'quick' one as I only had enough nappies to make 2 smaller tiers - so I didn't have the 'room' to wrap loads of clothes etc around it. I quite like it tho - and it's given me the idea of doing themed ones - if I'd used towels instead of the 2 blankets on this one it would've been a 'Bath-time' cake. They'll work out much cheaper too - so I may make some up, rather than making them to order.

Right, off to roll more nappies for today's cake - this one wont be a 'quick' one as it's for a works collection - better go and find my large cake boards!!!!!!!
